Does popping blackheads cause ';scars';?

Does popping blackheads cause scars? Like when you put your fingers on both sides of it and push so it burst and some white stuff comes out (sorry for the gross description but I had to describe it!).


after i washed my face with soap so it shouldnt get infected.i'm guessing it only gets infected if you let it get dirty,so if i keep it clean i shoudltn get any of those craters shud I(I already have some from chicken pox that i grew up with)Does popping blackheads cause ';scars';?
No, not to my knowledge. Blackheads are just oily secretions from your skin, they are not your typical pimple or zit, though they are in the acne family. Blackheads form as the oil is secreted from your skin and oxides. What you can do is get a facial with a good aesthetician every month to keep your face clump/bump/oily free. Plus, use a cleanser on your face depending on your skin type.

yea if you have a field of white heads on ur face,.... but blackheads wont make noticeable scars.... it will **** up the texture of ur skin though....

You will develop very large pores over time if you keep doing that. You would be better off trying to prevent them from happening in the first place. Wash your face at least 2x a day with a good facial cleanser. Use astringent if your skin is oily. Also, you could try one of those peel off masks a couple times a week or a good facial scrub to get rid of dead skin cells , oil, and dirt that can clog pores. Hope this helps.
some blackheads go away on their own but most don't so they need to be extracted. unfortunately it can cause scarring (especially if you have a poor diet) but usually the scarring is temporary. Just make sure you wash your face FIRST then do any popping. however, if you are extracting too much this can cause your pores to look larger and more visible and even may look like blackheads in them when theres not.
Yes they scar!!! Dont touch your face!! I have plenty of scars to prove it!! Get proactive or those biore pore things or some kind of cleanser for it, if you keep popping them your going to mess your skin up and make it worse!!
yes bot especailly the red inflamed kind cause hyperpigmentation like 4 sum reaosn even tho ive nevr picked or touched a pimple every pustule and red inflamedd pimple take s 4ever 2 go away and also turns in to hyperpigmentation everytime..yea sux 4 me...but yea dont t touchand use a treatment that has like licorice extract 2 prevent scarring...:)
What I have heard is that the ';act'; of popping zits blackheads doesn't necessarily cause scars but the bacteria on your hands/face (even if you wash them) and if you press gently vs. forcefully. I've see them popped with a warm wash cloth if they are about ready to pop anyway. But personally I wouldn't take the risk of scarring, since the blackhead will go a way and scars are ultimately harder to get rid of. If it's driving you crazy, then I would try to see a dermotologist and keep your hands away from your face.
