Ok, so these 3 things are not big, but just minor.
Together, they really stand out.
1) I had a small bruise bump forming, so I put ice on it, now there is no bump, but the spot is a dark color. How long will this heal, and what temperature water should i wash it with?
2) Beside the bruise is a small small small scar-like crater left from removing a blackhead 1 year ago. It's still pinkish and very small, but now it has made that area of the nose redish. What should i do?
3) On top of that scar/crater, is a blackhead. Oh god. Help me

Also, remind her to drink lots of water, and make sure she's getting enough antioxidants -- Vitmains A,C, and E -- in her diet, and not just in her vitamin.
Tell her to make sure that all of her makeup says ';anti-comeodogenic'; Which means that it won't clog your pores.
Also, tell her that she should try to not wear makeup, make her pillowcase as clean as possible, moisturize, and not to use harsh chemicals. Tell her to consider just washing her face with olive oil soap - as it won't be too harsh on her face.

A little hot water on a towel and gently scrub them away. Be careful, because if you scrub to hard it can leave a nasty bruse. But other then that it really works, my cousin does that.
Take a wash cloth and and hot water to your handling. Wash your face with Dove soap.Then wipe off with hot wash cloth and then pat your face with rag to open your pores.Take a bowl and put ice in and a little vodka and scoop it in your hand and pat all over your face.Then wash off with cold water pat face dry with clean towel.do this for at least three days.(Hot to open your pores to clean and clear and cold to close to leave clean and dry.

There really is no safe of removing a blackhead by your self. There is always going to be a chance of a scar. It would be best to go to a salon and have a professional do it for you. The other day I tried to squeeze some pimples out and I scarred my nose at the middle and its been red for about a week now and i also had a pimple on the side of my nose that started to swell up big and hurt so I poped it and now its bruised I also have little red marks around my nose from squeezing them out. Last night I squeezed a blackhead. I did it lightly, so I could avoid scarring. But when I woke up this morning the skin where I had popped the blackhead was red and a bit puffy. ok so a couple years ago i poped a huge blackhead on the side of my nose. it left me with a hole in my nose! its a small hole but it annoys me alot, it has not even slightly cloed over the years. Clean %26amp; Clear also makes a wonderful product called ';Steam';. It uses steam from the shower to get into pores and clean them out, and exfoliates dead skin away. I use this several times a week and it always leaves my skin feeling amazing.
Apparently, salicylic acid dissolves blackheads, although personally, I've never seen any dramatic difference. It's still worth a try, though.
Another option is to go to a dermatologist and have them extract your blackheads for you. This is probably the most effective way, but can get very costly. Facials often include a similar extracting process, but again, can be costly.
Definitely give the pore strips a shot, if you do it properly, you'll be amazed by the gunk it removes.

The best way to determine whether or not you will get a scar from a blackhead is to look at your skin after you had a cut or scrape. Did that scar or did it go away? If your skin is prone to not scaring after cuts then there's a 99% percent chance that a blackhead will not scar your skin. A blackhead is a pore that is filled with dirt and oil from your skin. Before you go scrubbing your forehead to death, I would recommend speaking with a dermatologist. I do know that scrubbing your skin is a definite no-no and any dermatologist will tell you that. Try using Cetaphil cleanser on your skin and reducing the use of your nivea to about 2-3 times per week. Make sure your using a astringent on your face. Witch Hazel is really good for your skin and not harsh like the other astrigents like clean and clear and pond's. Also when you apply the astringent, use only 100% cotton balls. After use a non oil based face lotion. Oil of Olay have some good ones. Make sure it says 100% no oil. The cetaphil is quite pricey (about $12-$15) but if you want quality then it's worth it to shell out a few bucks. But please stop scrubbing your face!! It only makes your skin look dull after you use it for a while and can cause skin discoloration. I reccomend using the products I just mentioned and consulting your dermatologist.....

I squeeze my black heads then regret it.. They only go red for about a minute then my skin goes back to normal...
I use Amie exfoliating skin polish and that really helps clear my pores and prevents any new ones arriving to annoy me!!

they will only scar if you squeeze too hard, if its a really big one and bleeds for example, so they wont definately scar.
squeezing them is one of the only ways you can actually get rid of them, i use scrubs and none work.
if you have alot, go to your doctor and they can prescribe you with a cream which overtime gets rid of them, then you wont need to squeeze them.
it will only scar if you pop it to harsh, like to early or you had to squeeze it alot. first wait a few days and put like on the spot pimple treatments, stuff like that to dry it out, then put a warm wash cloth on it to open your pores then slowly pop it. hope i helped :]

squeezing them is one of the only ways you can actually get rid of them, i use scrubs and none work.
if you have alot, go to your doctor and they can prescribe you with a cream which overtime gets rid of them, then you wont need to squeeze them.
it will only scar if you pop it to harsh, like to early or you had to squeeze it alot. first wait a few days and put like on the spot pimple treatments, stuff like that to dry it out, then put a warm wash cloth on it to open your pores then slowly pop it. hope i helped :]

I think the best thing for you to do would be a chemical peel. I know a few people who have gotten them done and they had remarkable results. It isn't pleasant a first, but the end results are really worth it. Find a good place to go to. Do not try the at home products because you can cause a lot more damage than you already have.

Hmm... if you are over 40 you really need to go to a doctor for that. The stuff on the shelves are meant for teenagers. There is some kind of bacteria that is on your skin that makes you break out, acne vulagris (seriously). My cousin has the same thing, the doctor will be able to prescribe you some extra strength meds. If you don't want to go to the doc, try proactiv.
Acne depends upon your system. I have NEVER used anything over the counter that works for me...it may be bacterial for you as well as it is for me. And, I hate to tell you this but nothing OTC that is cheap will assist if it is bacterial. Proactive is wonderful for kids and SOME adults...I have tried tetracycline, retin-a, etc. The only thing that assisted and took everything away was Accutane...you need to see a dermatologist to get it.
Go get microdermabrasions...they work wonders on the skin. They cost money, but ask yourself if its worth it!

if you have adult acne the best thing to do is to go to dermatologist (especially if you have insurance). They can prescribe a medication that is right for you (especially if you tied some over-the counter products) you might have to complete an antibiotic course (like minocyclin) or will be prescribed some washesor creams (like Retin-A, Sulfur wash and similar products) Good luck!

After that treatment by a skin milk product called FACE MILK to cleasnse it then, a lightening product to get ride of the mark. well i have heard acnefree is not the best to get rid of scars what is is scar no more. But acne free will get rid of the majority of your blackheads so all and all it should be pretty good. I have a friend who uses acne free and her face is perfect like im not even kidding. So yes go ahead and buy the acnefree but it is very expensive and it really has only worked on one of my friends, so you can always go with something a little cheaper. What i really love is the neutrogina Wave! and it is very very cheap! you can buy it at any local drugstore and maybe if you have a little money left over, buy scar no more because it gets rid of scars successfully and very quickly.

It's very difficult to get rid of acne scars. Laser resurfacing is probably the best method, but the recovery period is substantial...sometimes up to one year. If your scars are not too deep, Blu-u/Levulan treatments preceeded by micodermabrasions will be more effective. Pine Tar Soap! Seriously! Call around to your local pharmacies until you locate some. A friend of mine bought some for her teenager who had boil like pimples and blackheads all over his face and back. After 2 weeks they are all gone! Pine Tar Soap is only about $4.00 a bar and is made out of the same thing that Drawing Salve for boils is made of. You could also buy a tube of Drawing Salve to put on bad pimples at night.
You can also buy some Retin A which comes in a tube and used to be by prescription only and will make your face peel drastically. (I was prescribed this about 26 years ago when I had a bunch of tiny bumps all over my face which turned out to be some sort of wart infestation! Within a day, my face began to peel in sheets and I swear it took off 3 good layers of skin and the warts as well!) Try the Pine Tar Soap first as the Retin A is expensive.
You can also dab Pine Sol on pimples with a Q-Tip. Because it is so strong, it will cause the skin to peel drastically. I used it to get rid of ring worm that I got from a friend's cat that I didn't realize was infested! Be VERY careful and only put a tiny amount directly on the pimple because it burns your skin (as does the Retin A) to cause the drying and severe peeling. Do NOT put it all over your face or you will be sorry!
Aloe Vera gel is fairly inexpensive and is a natural antibiotic and is also proven to heal scars. Buy some of that as well.Blackheads? and acne? Scars?

During my middle school days I had a major problem with acne and now I have so much acne scars! I did use some products before and it faded slightly but not completely! Biore strips remove all of my blackheads %26amp; I have them heavy..You can find them at local drug stores. They work miracles. For the acne scars ask a doctor..but if not try some sort of cream for healing scars.
Try to use orange peel : apply it on affected areas.

Hi I'm pretty much in same boat. i have tried everything going, i have been on roaccutane which is great for clearing spots, but it s not guaranteed to keep spots at bay forever, but its worth looking into. there is a contraceptive pill called dianette which is also great, but i have came of it now because you can only take it for so long, since i have come off it my skin is very oily so for the time being i have been using Clearasil deep pore wash for a deep clean, then no7 micro dermobrasion facial scrub which is great for smoothing out your skin. combine this with a facial steamer. I'm not saying my tips gonna work miracles as i still suffer from spots but it does make a little difference. have you heard of Nlite that's a procedure to reduce spots and scarring but its a bit pricey.
You might need to get some dermabrasion and a few facial peels. My newphew was in sports and had the same problem.

Well I've recently noticed that I've got some blackheads and spot scars on my nose in that little crease bit (if ya get me!) and its quite red and it really bothers me.
Is there any simple way to get rid of them that doesn't effectively make me spend a load of money??

For scars, I bought concentrated lemon juice (just don't add water) and I rubbed it over where I needed to get rid of scars and after 2 weeks, it did. For blackheads, there are scrubs and masks at Longs that you can try.Easy way to get rid of blackheads / spot scars!?
I had acne for about a year and a half and in the end used some acne tablets the doctor gave me they work so well! But I have been left with acne scars and I used duac gel which worked REALLY well but then stopped working so my scars are a lot more mild but now I just have to wait a while for them to fade.
By the way you take the tablet once a day after meals, it stops the infection in the pores so it just stops acne forming. The duac gel you use twice a day and is a little sticky but only for a little while.

well you and me and like a zillion other people get to deal with those nasty little black dots from pores that get dirt and oils on the top which gives them the blackness to them. anywho, what i do is use my fingers to squeeze them clean until the clear liquid comes out and then i get the rest of them. next i wash my face in water and then i clean my face with toner. toner you can get in the make-up isle for like 5 6 bucks, and its really worth it. it works for me and then to keep them away i wash my face with it twice a day.
First cleanse ur face twice a day. steaming ur face will also help. then to get rid of scars use cream containing hydroquinin but use it after getting rid of blackheads cos it can lead to more darkning around pores. i knw one such product named melacare but use it at night only. if u do so u can see the difference in 1 week. hope it helped.

How do i get rid of blackhead scars?
I used to squeeze my blackheads all the time and i had stopped and i was being so good and wasn't popping any and then yesterday i squeezed it because i'm stupid and now i have a big ugly scar on my nose. It's not even like a little hole, it's a full on, gigantic, dark spot on my nose! Does anyone have any quick solutions to get rid of the scar? I had the exact same problem, i was washing my face every night and would constantly be changing from product to product.
i even went to my doctor and she prescribed a cream for my face and it still didn'tt work.
as for the oily part goes, you can pick up blotting pads at a drug store which really help, you would be amazed to see how much oil is really on your face.
as for the acne, mines gone now, and all i have been doing is washing it once a week with a very mild cleanser and every night i put cocoa butter on my face, its very rich and is great for your skin. i think that from my experience acne gets worse the more you wash.
for the scars, try pressing some garlic and applying it once a week to just the sacred areas. i cant really help with the large pores, but just try keeping simple one week, and try not using a lot of makeup to clog your pores. (maybe over Christmas break?)

Try to stay away from fatty foods. Eating correctly is very important in terms of keeping acne away ( and your health in general). Also are you stressed in your life? People breakout often when they have alot of stress, like finals week. Acne is pretty much a bacterial infection on overdrive. Your blood rushes to the site of infection causing a protuding bump, hence the pimple.
If you want OTC medicine, you can do a cream that contains benzoyl peroxide 10% or there is also a face wash from Clean and Clear with BP 10%. Make sure you wear sunscreen over it, because it does dry out your skin. If you're a young person, its probably puberty, so get over it, its natural. I had this problem up until i was 21, I changed my diet and used face wash, I've controlled it well since then.
Go to your dermatologist! I started getting acne on my forehead around 12 also. by the time i was 14, it was everywhere on my face, and starting on my back. I went to the dermatologist a little after I turned 14, after trying clean and clear, Clearasil, PROACTIVE (didn't work, when i stopped using it, i completely broke out horribly), and a few other commonly known products. I had the exact same problem, i was washing my face every night and would constantly be changing from product to product.
i even went to my doctor and she prescribed a cream for my face and it still didn'tt work.
as for the oily part goes, you can pick up blotting pads at a drug store which really help, you would be amazed to see how much oil is really on your face.
as for the acne, mines gone now, and all i have been doing is washing it once a week with a very mild cleanser and every night i put cocoa butter on my face, its very rich and is great for your skin. i think that from my experience acne gets worse the more you wash.
for the scars, try pressing some garlic and applying it once a week to just the sacred areas. i cant really help with the large pores, but just try keeping simple one week, and try not using a lot of makeup to clog your pores. (maybe over Christmas break?)

Try to stay away from fatty foods. Eating correctly is very important in terms of keeping acne away ( and your health in general). Also are you stressed in your life? People breakout often when they have alot of stress, like finals week. Acne is pretty much a bacterial infection on overdrive. Your blood rushes to the site of infection causing a protuding bump, hence the pimple.
If you want OTC medicine, you can do a cream that contains benzoyl peroxide 10% or there is also a face wash from Clean and Clear with BP 10%. There is silica or silicea tablets 'hair skin and nails' blackmores which help with skin conditons also. But i do suggest seeing a doctor if your acne/pimples are out of control, because there is medication that can help.

im plannin to buy proactive, and i want to know if it takes away pimple scars and pimples, so as blackheads. im 16 my face isnt too bad, i just got some blackheads on my forhead, and some faint once on my nose. i also got 5 annoying once close to my nose on my cheek, and they are bigger than the once on ur nose and white. i was wondering if proactive works, ive tried clean and clear blackhead eraser, so as a whole bunch of soaps, biori strips too, so if you guys know if proactive works for my case pls tell me or any other that works for my case tnx.Does proactive work for blackheads, and pimple scars?

i have sao many blackheads there gross!!! but there so tiny but because there is a whole lot of the my face goes kinda red. my pimples are on the side of my face and on my chin i alsoget a few on my forehead but they are mostly blackheads forming into pimples. i think i have scars they just stay there for like 6 months or something then leave its really annoying. wat is some cheap or worthwhile treatment and my pimples arent so so so so so bad so i dont need to see a doctor there just really bad and gross :(

You should use Bior Blackhead strips. How they work is you wet your nose put the strip on it dries. You rip the strip of as it was tape and you can literally see you blackheads with the roots on the strip.

I use baking soda in facial cream twice a week. Its not instant but I have noticed fewer in under two weeks. I have tried almost everything out there too and the stuff that said that cleared blackheads didn't work and ended up drying my skin out. Tattooing, yes sounds dumb, but Tattoo artists and several beauticians will tattoo color into your skin that matches your skin tone to cover up scars.
There is also scar fading cream, takes awhile to be effective, but it does help to diminish scars.

I used Tetracyclin, Proactive, Retina A and had many expensive facials with less than good results.
This has worked for me and many many other happy people.
Go to pharm.,Drug store, or Walmart, buy ';PURPOSE'; bar of soap - Blue box - Made by Johnson %26amp; Johnson - wash your face with this
2-3x's per day. Also pick up a LOW strength Benzoyl-peroxide cream, apply the cream by dabbing
to the individual blemishes.... DONT rub it in works using a oxidation/reduction reaction..It will unclog
dry it out and bring it to a head...DONT over use this or put anywhere else on your face. It will cause drying and make you look worse.
Salicylates such as found in regular asprin among other products work very similar but also remove layers of skin...
other over the counter creams with this product will dry out pimples but maybe too hash and cause surrounding skin trauma..
I have seen many people recommending crushing asprin and making a paste which probably will dry out the blemish but again
pretty strong and probably will cause more tissue damage and bigger scars as an anti inflammatory
probably would take the reddness out... again pretty harsh for sensative skin.
Also, If need which probably will for moisture ASK FOR ';NUTRADERM lotion'; - the orginal not the new stuff, this works

The remedy lies in changing your heating habits. Leave all the dead foods, canned foods or pulses/cereals.change over to fresh fruits and vegetables whether raw or half cooked.
With this you wud find bowls clear up fast and you wud start recovery very soon. If you could add up exercise and or walk up to 4 kms it wud be an added advantage.

Apple Zinger Facial Mask (Oily and Acne Prone Skin)
Take 1 medium size apple, grated fine, 5 tbs. honey. Mix the grated apple and honey well. Smooth over skin and let sit for 15 minutes. Rinse off with cool water.
Cool as a Cucumber Yogurt Facial (Normal/Oily Skin)
1/2 cucumber
1 Tbsp plain yogurt
Puree cucumber in blender mix in yogurt, apply to face. Leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse well.
Honey Mask (Oily/Blemished Skin)
Massage a small amount of slightly heated honey onto skin and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Be sure to wash off all the honey with lukewarm water or the honey left will clog your pores, resulting in more acne. Wheat germ may be added for its abrasive action, protein and nutrients.
Pineapple Olive Oil Mask
In a blender, combine 4 large pineapple chunks or 1/2 cup canned, drained pineapple and 3 tablespoons olive oil. Blend until almost smooth. Apply mixture to face with fingertips and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse face with warm water and pat dry.
Tomato Blemish Remedy
1 tomato, ripe, chopped
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 T instant style oatmeal or old fashioned rolled oats
Blend all ingredients until just combined, in a paste. Apply to blemished skin, making sure the mixture is thick enough to stay in place. Leave in place 10 minutes. Remove with damp washcloth, and rinse and tone.

Try not to touch your face...it's a hard habit to break but dirt, oil, and germs will get into your face and block your pores.
A common myth is that if you have oily skin, you should not moisturize it. This is wrong. If you have oily skin, you need to moisturize it, because if you do not, your skin will produce more oil to compensate. Try a good oil-free moisturizer, or Enzymion (from Lush).
